How and where can I vote for

Leedonal Jazz Moore?

Leedonal Jazz Moore is running to be the International Chair of Democrats Abroad for the 2023-2025 term. The election is scheduled to take place during the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the DPCA (Democratic Party Committee Abroad), which will be held on the weekend of June 9, 2023, in Washington D.C.

Excitement is high for this meeting, as it will be the first time since 2019 that Democrats Abroad will have the opportunity to meet in person due to the impact of COVID-19. For those unable to attend in person, the AGM will still be accessible through remote attendance options like Zoom or WebEx. Whether in person or virtually, the joy of connecting with fellow Democrats and engaging in the democratic process is sure to be a highlight of the event.

Democrats Abroad Annual Global meeting is open to ALL members. Save the date and RSVP here.

Only voting members of the DPCA, referred to as DPCA Voting Representatives, have the privilege of casting their vote for Leedonal.

DPCA, Democrats Abroad?!? What's that?

Democrats Abroad (DA) is the international wing of the US Democratic Party, treated as a State Party by the DNC. According to the DA Charter, the highest authority in the organization is the DPCA body, which consists of DPCA Members elected every two years to represent their respective Country Committees. These committees have been holding their elections locally in Spring 2023, with the majority expected to be completed by May, prior to the AGM in June.

Each Country Committee holds at least two votes, assigned to the CC Chair and CC Vice Chair. In the case of larger committees, DPCA Voting Representatives are elected specifically to carry additional votes on their behalf. These DPCA Voting Representatives hold the authority to vote on governance matters of the DPCA such as Elections, Charter amendments, Resolutions, and other business. Those in attendance at the meeting may also carry up to three proxy votes on behalf of other DPCA Voting Representatives who are unable to attend.

Whether you are attending the AGM in person or virtually, we urge you to commit to participating in the meeting.

If, as a DPCA Voting Representative are unable to attend, please consider proxying your vote to someone who will vote in accordance with our Charter and with your instructions.

We also encourage you to reach out to others and share why Leedonal must be our next International Chair. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our voices are heard.

For those who are Non-Voting Members or Alternates, we want to remind you that you are still full members of the DPCA in every respect except for not carrying an intrinsic vote. However, you may participate fully in matters of the DPCA and even carry up to three proxies.

For those who are not yet part of the DPCA, you can still make your voice heard. Contact your DCPA Representative and let them know your preference for the next International Chair.

Thank you for your commitment to Democrats Abroad!
